MITCHELL THROP FOUNDATION RECEIVES $7,500 FROM INDEPENDENT FINANCIAL GROUP
CARLSBAD, Calif. – (October 26, 2010) – Independent Financial Group (IFG), LLC, recognized as one of the fastest-growing broker dealer companies in the country, recently chose the Mitchell Thorp Foundation (MTF) as their 2010 organization to support. Here, IFG CEO/ Managing Director, Joe Miller, second from right, and IFG CMO/Managing Director David Fischer, right, present MTF founders Beth and Brad Thorp with a check for $7,500 to support the work they do on behalf of children challenged with life threatening illnesses, diseases and disorders.
“We wanted to keep this year’s contribution local and were impressed with the Thorp Family’s ability to turn the tragedy of losing a son into a positive force in helping other families deal with what they have experienced,” said Fischer.
MTF, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, held an inaugural walkathon in January 2010 that raised over $70,000, which has contributed to supporting and help ease the burden for five local families with similar needs. The 2nd annual Mitchell Thorp Walkathon will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Poinsettia Park’s Thorp Field in Carlsbad, CA.
